As a Salesperson at Nelson Builders, you will lead the sales process from start to finish, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and that our projects meet both customer needs and company standards. This role involves not just selling, but also estimating project costs and managing customer relationships throughout the construction process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the sales cycle from lead tracking and qualification to closing contracts.
  • Assess client needs, determine project feasibility, and provide initial project estimates.
  • Draft detailed project specifications and ensure all items are covered in contracts and drawings.
  • Collaborate closely with designers to produce client-approved construction drawings.
  • Coordinate with the production team for in-house costs and vendors for all other costs.
  • Prepare construction contracts, obtain client signatures, and secure deposits.
  • Estimate, process, and manage change orders efficiently.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, addressing any issues and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Lead Carpenters, and clients to finalize project details.
  • Conduct follow-up calls with clients post-project to ensure satisfaction and address any additional needs.
  • Attend industry seminars and training sessions to stay updated on trends and best practices.
  • Update and apply relevant technical knowledge to the job by observing, receiving, and obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Prepare estimates of projected costs for materials, equipment, labor, subcontractors, and other associated tasks for each specific project.
  • Generate any reports related to estimating as requested by the General Manager and submit them in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with customers, maintaining detailed knowledge of the company's products.
  • Verify all sales budgets to ensure they are achievable prior to the commencement of construction.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in residential construction with a thorough understanding of best practices, materials, and codes.
  • Minimum of an Associates Degree, Bachelors Preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful sales in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and preferably Chief Architect and JobTread.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Must project a professional image and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to client satisfaction.
